Street Clearing

Street Clearing, Debris, Snow Removal and Sanding

Spring/Summer
Centerline drainage on Tanglewood's community owned roadways requires that our roadways be kept clean of dirt, sand, and gravel in spring and summer (else this debris is carried into our sewers, leading to additional maintenance costs).

Are you Landscaping?
Residents engaged in landscaping are to ensure that soil, wood bark, and other landscaping materials are not stored on community owned roadways during such activities as per the By-laws, but instead are placed on your driveways and covered.  This practice will reduce the amount of material washed into sewers during seasonal rains. During rainstorms, the centerline of the street fills with fast moving runoff that washes debris directly into drainage wells.  Residents residing on City of Calgary owned streets should consult the City of Calgary By-laws.

Fall/Winter
Snow Removal is conducted in Tanglewood on community owned roadways and sidewalks and is a service afforded to Tanglewood residents, and normally occurs the day following every 3-inch snowfall. Sanding is also applied to community owned roadways to address safety and build up of ice.
