Effective March 1, 2007, Recycling occurs every week on Thursdays, before 8:00 a.m. Residents are advised to have their recycling placed at the curbside, opposite their garbage, before this hour to ensure that collection is not missed.
At present, there is a 2 bin limit per household. (Additional bins/boxes are not collected). All recycling must be cleaned or rinsed and lids should be removed from glass jars. Please note label removal from glass or tin cans is not necessary.
Please sort your recycling into the six categories: plastics, newsprint, mixed paper, tin, glass and refundables, and please ensure all recycling is in a bin. You can use shopping bags to keep the items separate in the bin, but please do not tie the bags. For a detailed explanation of each category, please look here.
From time to time, recycling cannot be picked up due to unforeseen circumstances (truck breakdown, etc.). Should this occur, a double load or up to 4 bins/boxes will be picked up the following week.
