Follow this link to a PDF of Tanglewood's Design and Architectural Guidelines.
Tanglewood, as developed by Hopewell Residential Communities, was envisioned to be a community of homes built with a small set of architecturally consistent design themes. This vision can be found in the link above. The guidelines found in this document are inclusive of architectural design, landscape design, and selection of appropriate plant species.
The Tanglewood Condominium Corporation encourages all residents to respect the vision found within this document. If followed consistently, these architectural guidelines will ensure that Tanglewood preserves a desirable, distinct identity within Tuscany, and residents will all benefit from the resulting enhancement of our property values.
In 2005, a variety of issues relating to perceived design violations faced the board. To address these issues, the board first worked to establish the authority of the Condominium Corporation with respect to enforcement of design guidelines. The board engaged a Condominium Law practitioner and a Hopewell Residential Communities Counsel to establish this authority, and received a written legal opinion.
The 2005-06 board reviewed these opinions, and determined that the authority of the Condominium Corporation to address perceived design violations is ambiguous. Accordingly, the board has defined a policy to guide board action in these matters. The policy, entitled “Respecting Design & Landscaping Complaints”, was unanimously adopted at the March 18, 2006 board meeting. Our Design Complaints page outlines this policy.
